Shopping on the Internet has a lot of advantages, of which the most important is perhaps its convenience. ★怎麼去做
記憶力差的同學，可以從今天開始，每天記十個單詞，不要用什麼方法，就四個字「記硬背」，就是機械記憶，因為只有這樣，你的記憶力才能得到有效的鍛煉。有些同學說，我用形象記憶法，好，那你練的是想像力；有些同學說，我先理解再記憶，好，那你練的是理解力。我們現在要解決的是記憶力，我們的目標是恢復小時候啥都不懂，但就是能硬生生記住的能力，想做到這一點，就得「記硬背」。慢慢的，你會發現記憶力就開始進步，最早記十個單詞要20分鍾，現在只要10分鍾了，這時候你就可以換個重點的杠鈴了，一天背20個單詞，或者不背單詞，改去背英語文章。
背英語文章是提高英語最快的方法，也是最鍛煉記憶力的。很多英語界的前輩都在這樣提，也是我自己的親身體驗，我英語起步的時候就是靠背新概念三冊，後來練的記憶力狂好，一篇三百字的英語文章，基本不用半個小時就能一字不漏背下來。而如果給我一篇三百字的中文文章，我半個小時很難做到背下來不出錯，但英文就可以，為什麼會這樣？就是因為我沒有花那麼多的時間去集中的練中文記憶力，但我卻扎扎實實的花了9個月的時間把新概念三冊背了100多遍。這說明一個道理：記憶力確實是可以練出來的。
【定力和毅力】
知易行難，說的容易，做起來就很難。知道了如何提高記憶力的方法，不等於你的記憶力真能提高。每天背一點東西，看似簡單，真嘗試過的人就知道個中難處，很難成功，失敗的原因就是因為大部分人不僅記憶力差，同時另外兩種力也很弱：毅力和定力。
★我們的缺點
現在的我們缺乏毅力，學習不能堅持；缺乏定力，目標不能專一，易受外界干擾。
一方面是現在社會上新鮮事物太多，尤其是網路上什麼都有，確實是個不利於學習的環境。不像以前，書房裡只有桌子椅子，想受誘惑都難。現在房間里只要有一台電腦，學習效率下降50%，再有寬頻，基本上就沒法學習了。
另外一方面也是同學很少有主動鍛煉自己的定力和毅力的意識。大家好像總覺得體力可以通過鍛煉而變好，而毅力恆心這東西是天生的，所以經常說某某人有毅力，某某人無毅力。其實這是個錯誤的提法，正確的來說，某些人毅力強，某些人毅力弱，而強弱之間也可以互相轉化。缺乏毅力的人，如果不斷努力，是可以成為一個有毅力的人的。
★怎麼鍛煉
我們來說說如何在英語學習中強化自己的定力和毅力。比如說，有個同學決心把新概念背200遍，決定這段時間不看其他英語書，也不從事任何娛樂活動，每天早上六點起床。剛開始幾天肯定沒問題，因為熱情還未冷卻，但到了第四天，早上六點醒了，發現天特別冷，開始動搖了，不想起床。
注意：這時候就是鍛煉你毅力的最佳時機，如果你經過激烈的思想斗爭後，還是起床了，那麼你的毅力就變強了一點。但如果你妥協了，那麼你的毅力就變弱了一點。你的毅力最終的狀態就取決於每次你思想斗爭勝負的累積。
本來晚上要背新概念的，不小心瞄到電視上出現了自己最愛的日本明星，比如說機器貓，開始動搖。那麼同樣，如果你按原計劃去背書了，那麼你的定力又長了一分，如果坐到電視機前看機器貓了，那麼定力就弱了一分。再比如說《新概念》背第一遍第二遍的時候，感覺還可以，到了第七遍第八遍的時候，很多同學反映，看到那本書就想吐，好，考驗你的時候又到了，你能定的住嗎？絕大部分同學可能不行，換成《走遍美國》了，等於一條道走了一段，又換了一條道，前面的工夫都白花了。但如果你能忍著惡心，接著背下去，不僅英語學好了，定力也練出來了。
【總結】
同學們學英語有兩個通病，一、恨不得學遍所有的教材。二、恨不得一夜成為英語高手。概括下：一貪多，二求速。這兩個毛病不治，英語是學不好的。所以我曾提出「精」和「慢」作為根治這兩個毛病的葯方。「精」字治貪多，一本書原則；「慢」字治求速，忍著性子慢下來才有真進步。而貫徹「精」字需定力，貫徹「慢」字需毅力，這兩種力的培養實在是我們徹底征服英語的前提條件。
